AFP VisCom shifts from combat to peace and development efforts

THE Armed Forces of the Philippines Visayas Command highlighted its transition from combat-focused operations to prioritizing peace and development efforts in collaboration with the Department of the Interior and Local Government during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas of the Philippine Information Agency on March 18, 2025.

The DILG in Central Visayas, for its part, is addressing development gaps in conflict-affected areas through the Retooled Community Support Program , which empowers Barangay Local Government Units to identify local concerns and implement sustainable development initiatives that enhance livelihoods and economic stability.
