Bordado is a member of PMA Maringal Class of 1988, along with current army chief Major General Andres Centino.
Rear Admiral Adelius Bordado was named as the next flag officer-in-command of the Philippine Navy, according to Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Cirilito Sobejana.
Bordado is the 39th navy chief and will replace the outgoing navy chief Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo in a change of command ceremony on Tuesday, June 8. Prior to his appointment, Bordado served as the chief-of-naval staff of the Philippine Navy. He also headed the Education, Training, and Doctrine Command of the AFP.
A native of Camarines Sur, Bordado belongs to the Philippine Military Academy Class Maringal Class of 1988, along with the current Philippine Army Chief Major General Andres Centino.
