ABC ‘owes an apology’ to Australians for ‘misleading them’: Katherine DevesFormer Liberal candidate Katherine Deves says the ABC's editorial correction to an original article published in April - which failed to mention trans women's physical advantages over women, is a 'real win'. ABC chairwoman Ita Buttrose apologised for 'serious editorial errors' following an internal review which indicated the original article to be 'materially misleading' for failing to mention trans women retain physical advantages over women in sport. 'The system is completely broken on this issue, and it's been very much aided by media outlets like the ABC who have been woefully unbalanced, including being incredibly hostile to anyone who raises concerns, myself included, as we saw in the election,' Ms Deves told Sky News host Chris Kenny. Ms Deves said the ABC 'misrepresent that view' on trans women retaining physical advantages and 'owe an apology' to the Australian public and supporters of women in sport for 'misleading them'. 'They have propagated this really destructive, divisive narrative. I think they really ought to be apologetic about that,' she said.
