Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos on Friday urged the Philippine National Police (PNP) to swiftly apprehend the perpetrator of the murder of an Oriental Mindoro radio broadcaster.
Abalos said he called the attention of PNP chief Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr. to immediately coordinate with Police Regional Office Mimaropa chief Police Brigadier General Joel Doria.
"Kanina, I called the attention of the Chief na sabi ko tawagan mo kaagad si General Doria ," he said in an ambush interview. "Of course journalist, kailangan mahuli kaagad yan . Is it related to work? Ano bang ano nito ? So they are on top of it," he added. in a shooting incident in Calapan City. Police said one of the two suspects on board a motorcycle shot Bunduquin several times in front of his sari-sari store at 4:20 a.m. Police said after the suspects fled from the crime scene, Bunduquin’s son chased them and "accidentally bumped" into the suspects’ motorcycle., identified as Narciso Ignacio Guntan, sustained head injuries that immediately caused his death, according to the police.
