In just one week from April 12 to April 17, 2020, Luz accounted for 135 cases of the 161 total number of infections in Cebu City. Doctor Daisy Villa, the head of the Cebu City Health Department , told CDN Digital that there is a huge difference with how the two barangays dealt with their positive COVID-19 cases.
The city government had to deploy the police and military to contain the people inside the quarantined sub-village. The first case was recorded on April 14, 2020, while the next case was recorded on April 17, 2020. The spread is significantly slower compared to Sitio Zapatera.
