Nine more repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Central Visayas tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
This now brings to a total of 14 the number of virus-infected OFWs who arrived in Cebu on April 28, according to data from the Department of Health in Central Visayas .
Dr. Jaime Bernadas, DOH -7 director, has made a recommendation for all the repatriated OFWs to undergo further laboratory tests before they should be allowed to go home to their families. A total of 328 repatriated OFWs were sent to the different provinces in the Visayas and Mindanao on April 28 after being stranded in Metro Manila for at least one month.
The 220 who arrived in Cebu were immediately transported to their respective hotels that will serve as their isolation facilities for 14 days.
