ZAMBOANGA CITY--Nine police officers involved in the fatal shooting of 4 soldiers in Jolo, Sulu, will be transferred to Camp Crame in Quezon City, the top police official said on Friday.
The detained police officers will be moved to the national headquarters to ease tension between police and military in the province, said Philippine National Police chief Police Gen. Archie Gamboa.
In the wake of the incident, Police Maj. Walter Annayo, chief of Jolo Municipal Police Station, was relieved of his duties, Gamboa added. Members of the board of inquiry from police and military will visit Jolo next week to investigate the incident.
