An 84-year-old grandmother is in critical condition after being doused with gasoline and set ablaze by her son-in-law in Carcar, Cebu. The crime was recorded on video by the suspect's 11-year-old son. According to a GMA Regional TV report, the victim was washing clothes when the suspect attacked her. The video captures the child's shock and terror as he witnesses his father's actions. The grandmother suffered third-degree burns and is currently hospitalized. The child said his father was drunk and ordered him to videotape his grandmother. Police investigation revealed a previous feud between the suspect and victim. The suspect allegedly believed his mother-in-law was brainwashing his wife, who hasn't returned home since December. The suspect is in custody and claims his mother-in-law was undermining him. However, the suspect's child said his mother left because of his father's abuse. The child expressed pity for his grandmother's ordeal and stated that his father cannot be forgiven. The suspect will face charges of frustrated murder.

Madidinig sa video ang pagkagulat at pagkataranta ng bata nang makita ang ginawa ng kaniyang ama sa kaniyang lola.Ayon sa apo ng biktima, lasing daw ang kaniyang ama nang utusan siya nito na videohan ang kaniyang lola. Sa imbestigasyon ng pulisya, lumitaw na dati nang may hidwaan ang suspek at biktima. Nagtalo umano ang dalawa nang hanapin ng suspek sa biktima ang kaniyang misis , na hindi pa umuuwi mula noong Disyembre.
