OCD Administrator and Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno said the number of reported casualties is still subject to validation and verification. Another 66 people were also reported injured and 34 were reported missing.Nepomuceno said around 4 million people or 1 million families were severely affected by the weather disturbance. There are 311,468 persons or 82,000 families currently staying in evacuation centers.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in its latest situational report said that there are a total of 547 flooded areas nationwide. The NDRRMC also reported that the cost of damage to infrastructure stands at P203.82 million, accounting for 98 damaged roads, bridges, school buildings, government facilities, and health facilities. A total of 8,432 houses were damaged, of which 7,506 were partially damaged and 926 were totally damaged.
Meanwhile, agricultural damage was estimated at P87.52 million, affecting 3,049 farmers and fisherfolk, as well as 1,613.77 hectares of crops.Seoul slams Russian treaty with N. Korea, Zelensky urges ‘tangible pressure’
