First of two parts
IT took 80 years to build a stable world order where countries were brought to a level of wealth, both personal and national, that the globe had never experienced before. And it took 100 days for one stupid man, Donald Trump, to tear it all down. Vladimir Lenin summarized it brilliantly: 'There are decades when nothing happens and there are weeks where decades happen.' The damage this man is doing — to all of us — cannot be underestimated.
US stock markets have already fallen 17 percent from their January peak. Trump has single-handedly destroyed — and I don't use that word loosely — a successful trade system that encompassed all the countries in the world. As The New York Times said on April 2: 'Trump has taken America's trade policies back to the 19th century.' Worse, the uncertainty caused by his flip-flopping decision-making is deterring businesses from investing or even buying what is needed to manufacture.
