Eight thousand individuals in La Castellana and La Carlota in Negros Occidental who were affected by Kanlaon Volcano 's eruption received aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation.According to “24 Oras,” Friday, among those affected was Mary Jane Pagunsan and her family, who live nearby the volcano.“Nakita ko ‘yung nanay ko, umiyak na. Tapos ang dami na niya dito na mga sulfur. Naano na siya, naligo ng asupre,” Mary Jane said.
“Natatakot din kasi naranasan mo na tumatakbo, habulin mo ‘yung mga anak mo sa school, tapos inaano mo pa ‘yung tatay ko. Ang takot, kaba,” she said.The residents are advised to wear face masks to protect their health from the ash fall.“‘Yung mga particles na binubuga ng bulkan is masyadong maliit, puwedeng makapasok sa ating respiratory system,” said Dr. Jess Jason Octaviano, municipal health officer - in charge in La Castellana.
