CITY OF SAN FERNANDO --- About 70 far-flung schools in Central Luzon now have access to the internet, courtesy of the Department of Science and Technology .The DOST Central Luzon last Friday gave the Starlink satellite internet service to the geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas schools in the region’s seven provinces – Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga and Zambales.
Starlink is a satellite-based technology from SpaceX, which will enable the 70 GIDAs as well as indigenous peoples schools to have access to the digital world as well as access a wide range of educational resources available globally.Since access to quality education is a challenge for learners in GIDAs, the DOST noted that Starlink offers a lifeline to these remote schools, connecting them to the vast resources and opportunities available through the internet.
