SIX young and promising memory athletes will represent the Philippines in the Asia Open Memory Championship in Singapore on September 28 to 29.
Playing for the Kids division are Jessica Raine Rellora, who is 12 years old and Chelsea Anne Galamgam and Venir Manzalay III who are both 11.Charles Andrei Galamgam, 14, Angel Mikhaila Sanchez, 17, and Chloe Andrea Galamgam, 17, will compete in the Juniors division. Chloe Andrea Galamgam earned the title of Grandmaster of Memory during the Asia Open Memory Championship held at De La Salle University in Manila last year.
He's ready and we felt his eagerness to claim the GMM title for the country.'There are four requirements for an athlete to become a GMM at the Asian Championships, Bonita said.'The memory athlete needs to memorize 600 numbers or digits in 30 minutes, the exact order of six shuffled decks of cards minimum in 30 minutes, a shuffled deck of cards in less than two minutes and 50 words in 15 minutes,' Bonita said.
