It is really important to us that we are able to help out, and in our local community.”All charities need trustees and many struggle to find them.

RSPCA animal rescue volunteers collect sick, injured or orphaned birds and small mammals and take them to vets, rehabilitation or wildlife centres, and help out with other animal transport jobs. “It’s a unique opportunity to help animals,” says Lucy Bailey of the RSPCA. Volunteers need to have access to a vehicle and a smartphone – all other kit and training is provided.
