BACOLOD CITY – A truck loaded with 104 pigs, fell off a cliff, which killed five persons and injured its driver at Sitio Salngan, Brgy. Mayabon, Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental Friday, July 26.
The truck which fell off a 50-deep cliff after it encountered an engine trouble at Brgy. Mayabon, Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental Friday. Police identified the fatalities as Nenita Olivar, and her employees – siblings – Tito and Edgardo Ramirez, Rusty James Rafael Sumaway, and Jason Cadellena.Capt. Danilo Santillan, town police chief, said the truck was on its way to Tanjay City from Negros Occidental when Roberto lost control over the vehicle due to mechanical trouble.Their four employees were seated at the back of the truck when the accident happened.
The victims’ bodies were thrown out of the truck due to the impact. All of them sustained head injuries and fractures.Santillan said 44 of the 104 pigs were killed in the accident. The remaining pigs were already brought by Olivar’s family to Tanjay City for the couple’s buy and sell business.
