40 stranded OFWs from Metro Manila arrive in Iloilo
ILOILO CITY - Aabot sa 40 na OFW ang nakauwi sa Iloilo nitong Sabado ng umaga matapos silang ma-stranded ng dalawang buwan sa Maynila dulot ng COVID-19 pandemic.
Marso 17 nang dumating sa Manila ang isa sa mga OFW na si Jayson De Ocampo matapos ang 9 na buwan na pagtatrabaho sa barko. Nagkataon sana ang kanyang pag-uwi sa Iloilo sa kaarawan ng kanyang kabiyak. “Mas OK kung dito sa Iloilo kasi kasama mo pamilya mo at hindi magastos. Sa Manila, magastos. Pera ang nagpapagalaw sa 'yo doon sa Manila," ani Ocampo.
Una nang sinabi ni Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas na kung magnegatibo ang mga OFW sa COVID tests sa siyudad ay papayagan na silang umuwi sa kani-kanilang pamilya.
