NORTHPORT enters the PBA Season 49 with three key players down with separate injuries.
These are Paul Zamar, Fran Yu and Jio Jalalon.Team governor Erick Arejola bared the Batang Pier's latest injury update during last Wednesday's PBA Season 49 press conference at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel in Mandaluyong City.'The season hasn't started, but we have three players already who got injured in practice games, Zamar tore his ACL, Fran Yu also got hurt, and si Jio,' said Arejola.
Meanwhile, Jalalon and Yu also sustained knee and hand injuries, putting the Batang Pier at a handicap when the team makes its Governors' Cup debut on August 20 against TNT.The injury also meant the 32-year-old Jalalon's debut for NorthPort will have to wait.Jalalon landed at NorthPort after being traded to the Batang Pier, along with Abu Tratter in exchange for young big man Zavier Lucero last July 15.
