THREE members of the Dawlah Islamiya-Maute Group have surrendered amid the military offensive against them in Lanao del Sur, the military said Friday, December 6, 2024.Lieutenant Colonel Abel Potutan, 64th Infantry Battalion commander, did not identify the DI-MG surrender, who had been active since 2017, the year the terrorist group laid siege in Marawi City.Potutan said the three DI-MG members surrendered to his troops on Thursday, December 5, in Matalin village, Malabang, Lanao del Sur.

The DI-MG surrenderers have turned over three high-powered firearms, including one modified M-14 rifle, and two Garand rifles with magazines and ammunition.He said the surrenderers’ choice to surrender represents a crucial advancement in the government's ongoing campaign against DI-MG in Lanao Del Sur.
