Talkback station 2GB has lost the top spot in Sydney's latest radio ratings for the first time in 18 years, with network bosses flagging a competitive year for the audio market.
In the first GfK ratings survey of 2023, KIIS FM dominated the overall share of the Sydney radio market at 11.9 per cent, surpassing 2GB at 11 per cent.
The decline continued in the all-important breakfast slot with 2GB's Ben Fordham eclipsed by powerhouse duo Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson on KIIS.Fordham claimed a 14 per cent share of the audience, down 1.7, but it was Kyle and Jackie O who took the breakfast top spot with their staggering 15.9 per cent share after a jump of 1.1 percentage points.
