SOME 200 market vendors in Iloilo City completed the financial literacy training provided by the BDO Foundation in collaboration with the local government unit of Iloilo City.The initiative sought to empower local entrepreneurs with the essential knowledge and skills to manage their finances effectively and sustainably.The financial literacy program originated from the LGU's request for the BDO Foundation to develop a tailored financial education training program for its market vendors.
Market vendors in Iloilo City display their certificates after completing the financial literacy training program, a collaborative initiative by BDO Foundation and the city government of Iloilo aimed at empowering local entrepreneurs. The collaboration also involved the Uswag Negosyo Academy, the training arm under the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion office, which focuses on the growth of local micro, small, and medium enterprises in the city.The program consisted of two modules.The first module covered the basics of financial literacy, including budgeting, saving, financial planning and debt management.
