Investigators identified the fatalities as Edwin Capuyan and Jayson Bang-ay Quinio, both of Barangay Agbannawag in Tabuk City.Injured were truck driver Cesar Abalos Camtugan and passengers Marlon Masedma Kis-ing, Jaymay Bistacion Badillo, and Daniel Casim Cudal.
An initial investigation showed that the victims were headed to Conner town in nearby Apayao province when the driver lost control of the truck around 6 a.m. as he negotiated a curve in Tabuk’s Barangay Calanan, causing it to fall into the irrigation canal on the roadside.
