CEBU CITY, Philippines – The first National Museum in Cebu will be opening its doors next month.

In a briefer, the NMP said the museum will be “partially opened” to the public from Tuesdays to Sundays. Its opening hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.The NMP made the announcement on the eve of the museum’s inauguration this Friday, July 28, which will be led by President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.NM Cebu will be housed in the Aduana building, also known as the Old Customs House and the Malacañan sa Sugbo.

“Built of reinforced concrete, the Aduana embodies American-influenced architecture while incorporating local building traditions,” NMP said. In 2013, the building was deemed unsafe for occupancy after it sustained significant damages due to the 7.2-magnitude earthquake that rocked the provinces of Bohol and Cebu.
