AROUND 1,000 police and military personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of the monthlong 26th Tuna Festival 2024 celebration.
The Tuna Festival 2024, with its theme: 'Lasa, Galing sa Piyesta!,' shows abundant resources that give the essence of vibrant culture and globally competitive talents as 'lasa' carries the pride of General Santos for its flavorful tuna products, while 'galing' stands for the city's unparalleled skill and talent.
She said that there really is a need to create a special task force to prevent the spread and escalation of untoward incidents and to preserve peace and order in General Santos following reports on threats that the city will not be spared and will be put in chaos.However, police and military personnel have already prepared their security plan for the coming festival celebration.
