On Oct. 1 and 2 a UFO expo exploring the question of what people witnessed in Shag Harbour – along with other unidentified flying object news you can use – is taking place in Yarmouth and Shag Harbour.

The 1967 Shag Harbour UFO incident remains a mystery. A photo of a map that is included in a display at the UFO interpretive centre in Shag Harbour. TINA COMEAU PHOTOSHAG HARBOUR, N.S. — Fifty-five years later, it's still a mystery that people can't stop talking or thinking about.

The first day of the expo, being held at the Grand Hotel in Yarmouth is a full-day international symposium with a line-up of who’s who in UFO research who will be presenting on all aspects of the UFO phenomena. Vendors, UFO trivia, a question-and-answer session and eyewitness testimony about the Shag Harbour incident will also fill the day.

“These guys are top of the league in ufology,” says renowned Shag Harbour UFO researcher Chris Styles who will also be presenting, for the first time, his research on a previously unknown 1960 UFO case in Shelburne that he has been trying to crack for 29 years. “Something that other conferences don’t offer is travel to the crash site and eyewitness testimony so that’s our big claim to fame,” says Reid. “We’ve never tried to make it a world-class event but that’s where we want to take it, an annual event and truly world-class.”

Playing all day will be the Celine and Fabian Cousteau documentary 'Legends of the Deep,' featuring their 2018 investigation into the Shag Harbour UFO incident. The remains of a wooden boat, as it was found in a saltwater pond on Bon Portage Island in 2018. Contributed
