The Provincial Health Office (PHO) in Bulacan on Wednesday reported 19 new deaths due to COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths in the province to 586 since the start of the pandemic last year.

The PHO also reported that 178 new cases were verified and added to the total number of 26,995 COVID-19 confirmed cases in the provincial tally.

Out of the 26,995 COVID-19-related cases gathered by the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit of PHO-Public Health from the disease reporting units province-wide, 22,054 are confirmed, and 4,941 are suspected cases. According to the report, of the total COVID-19 confirmed cases, 18,300 or 79 percent have recovered, including the 350 additional recoveries on Wednesday. There are 3,168 patients under isolation and being monitored in hospitals, and in temporary isolation and monitoring facilities.

The cities with the highest COVID-19 cases are Malolos and San Jose Del Monte and the municipality of Santa Maria.
