DEADLINE BEATERS. The filing of certificates of candidacies for the 2025 midterm elections ended yesterday. Among those who beat the deadline are: former Senator Kiko Pangilinan who was accompanied by his actor-singer wife, Sharon Cuneta, television host Willie Revillame, former Manila mayor Iskho Moreno, former executive secretary Vic Rodriguez, and detained pastor Apollo Quiboloy whose COC was submitted by his lawyer.
As of October 7, the poll body said that 28,105 have filed their COCs wanting to seek elective posts for the 2025 midterm elections. The poll chief said that this year’s COC filing was held without the usual fiesta-like noise because of the strict guidelines implemented by the Comelec.
