LAPU-LAPU CITY — The Commission on Elections in Central Visayas (Comelec-7) has identified 139 candidates who failed to file their statement of contributions and expenditures (SOCE) for the 2025 midterm elections, putting winning candidates at risk of being barred from taking office by July 1.
LAPU-LAPU CITY — The Commission on Elections in Central Visayas has identified 139 candidates who failed to file their statement of contributions and expenditures for the 2025 midterm elections, putting winning candidates at risk of being barred from taking office by July 1. Comelec-7 Director Francisco Pobe said that out of 2,383 certified candidates in the region, only 2,244 submitted their SOCE before the June 11 deadline.
Pobe said that in Cebu, 1,177 candidates submitted their SOCE while 93 failed to comply. In Bohol, 1,067 candidates filed the required document, but 48 did not. Regionwide, he added, 2,244 candidates filed their SOCE, while 139 failed to meet the deadline. The Comelec reminded both winners and nonwinners that filing the SOCE is not optional.
