A total of 13,000 persons with disabilities in Parañaque City will each receive a Christmas gift cheque worth P1,000 from the city government, according to Mayor Eric Olivarez.
The mayor said the distribution of gift cheques is part of his administration’s commitment to improve the quality of life of all constituents, especially the poor and disadvantaged members of society. “The P1,000 gift cheques will enable them to purchase essential items and perhaps some food for the traditional Noche Buena on Christmas Eve.”
Olivarez said last month, a total of 615 students with disabilities were given school supplies by the Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office under Dr. Sabas de Guzman as part of the National Children’s Month celebrations.
