THE 12th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit 2024, the country's largest annual EV exhibition, will showcase the latest EV technologies, innovations and products from leading brands.Edmund Araga, president of the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines , emphasized that this year's theme, 'Spark Change , Drive Electric,' aims to inspire a transformative shift toward cleaner mobility.
Government agencies, such as the Department of Trade and Industry , are also pushing for EV adoption through the Electric Vehicle Incentive Strategy .Additionally, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has mandated that 10 percent of government fleets should be EVs, doubling the previous 5 percent requirement under Evida.The EV market showed significant growth in 2023, with EV sales reaching 10,602 units, up from 1,072 in 2022.
