'Projects like improved crosswalks, traffic-calming measures and safety planning help prevent dangerous driving, giving people confidence and keeping communities safely connected.'
A Burnaby intersection will benefit from provincial funding in hopes of increasing driver awareness and improving access to Royal Oak Skytrain station.
The province says more than $1 million has been distributed to 59 B.C. communities through Vision Zero grants. "Vision Zero grants are making roads in rural, remote and Indigenous communities safer for everyone who relies on them for school, work or to visit family," Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Rob Fleming said in a news release.
