BC SPCA seeks support for Finnigan, the three-year-old cat struck by a moving vehicle
He made it out alive — thankfully — but his wounds were severe and he needed emergency care.
Nicole McBain, the manager of BC SPCA’s Burnaby animal centre, thanked the “good Samaritans” that witnessed him being hit for calling BC SPCA for assistance. Finnigan spent the next 48 hours in emergency care at the veterinary hospital — getting his fractured jaw wired, the wounds sutured, antibiotics, pain medication, skull X-rays and IV fluids. The large wound on the side of his face and mouth, which was sutured also required a drain, McBain added.
