A total of 101 tricycles were impounded by the Land Transportation Office in the first week of the implementation of the 'No plate, No travel' policy on tricycles in Quezon City .According to Christian Maño's Sunday report on Super Radyo dzBB, LTO chief Vigor Mendoza said the strict implementation of the policy is supported by members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers' Association to protect legitimate tricycle drivers.
Mendoza added these tricycle drivers were losing income due to colorum tricycles, which were plying routes without the necessary permits.The “No Plate, No Travel” policy in Quezon City serves as a pilot run of the stricter road safety and anti-colorum measures of LTO as it plans to implement the measure nationwide, particularly on four-wheel vehicles.
