A 100-year-old Filipino-American woman became the first dual citizen of 2025 after reacquiring her Philippine citizenship. Loreto Noguera took her oath of allegiance to the Philippines, administered by Consul Barbie Rosales, at the Philippine Embassy in Washington. The embassy celebrated her milestone, saying it 'underscores the deep and enduring connection many Filipinos in the United States feel towards their homeland.
' The Dual Citizenship Law (Republic Act 9225) allows natural-born Filipinos who have become citizens of another country to retain their Philippine citizenship.
