PAGASA said the easterlies, or warm winds originating from the Pacific Ocean, will continue to influence the country’s weather that may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies and hot and humid conditions. While isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may occur in the afternoon or evening, these are not expected to reduce daytime temperatures significantly.
Based on its latest forecast, PAGASA said Dagupan City, Pangasinan and Pili, Camarines Sur may register the highest heat index for the day at 43°C. The following areas may also record a heat index of 42°C: Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Echague, Isabela; Camiling, Tarlac; Cavite City, Cavite; Iloilo City, Iloilo; Dumangas, Iloilo; Catarman, Northern Samar; and Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.At this level, individuals may be at risk of heat-related illnesses, such as heat cramps and heat exhaustion, and prolonged exposure may lead to heatstroke.
