Magsasagawa ng search and rescue operation para sa mga tripulanteng Pinoy na sakay ng barkong MV Tutor na inatake ng grupong Houthi sa Red Sea. Isa mga Pinoy ang iniulat na nawawala.
Kinondena ng Department of Foreign Affairs ang naturang pag-atake sa barko na may sakay na mga Pilipino nitong June 12.
"The Philippine government will take all necessary measures to secure the safety and well-being of the Filipino crew on board and ensure justice," saad ng DFA sa pahayag nitong Biyernes.Sa ulat ng GMA News 24 Oras, sinabing kinumpirma ni Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac na isa sa 22 tripulanteng Pinoy na sakay ng barko ang nawawala.Nakikipag-ugnayan na rin ng DMW sa DFA at sa manning agency ng barko.
Sinabi naman ni Pangulong Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., na nakikipag-ugnayan ang pamahalaan sa United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations para madala ang mga tripulanteng Pinoy sa bansang Djibouti sa Africa. “Sa ating mga kasama na Filipino seafarers na nakasakay nung MV Tutor na binomba at ngayon ay hindi malaman ang gagawin – lahat ng maaring gawin ay ginagawa na namin,” pagtiyak ng pangulo.
"Patuloy ang aming paghanap ng tulong sa ating mga kaibigan para madala na kayo sa Djibouti,” dagdag niya.Nagsimula ang pag-atake ng Houthis sa mga barkong dumadaan sa Red Sea region noong Nobyembre bilang pagpapakita ng pagsuporta sa Palestinian sa harap ng digmaan ng Israel at Hamas. --FRJ, GMA Integrated News
