AN ESTIMATED 1.4 million Catholic devotees participated in the Fiesta Señor Solemn Foot Procession 2025 on Saturday, January 18, Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office head retired General Aderson Comar said.Police Lieutenant Colonel Jomar Medil, head of the Cebu City Police Office’s Traffic Enforcement Unit and event commander for the procession, said the carrozas carrying the Sagrada Familia arrived early at the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño.
Security measures were implemented with three layers of protection: the first layer consisted of students from various schools holding ropes, the second included personnel from Task Group Cebu, which encompasses the Armed Forces and Navy, and the third layer, inside the procession, was made up of police officers from across Central Visayas.“Walay nakasingit nga mga devotees along the route, which resulted to an orderly, peaceful and early return of carroza,” Medil said.
