Zamboanga City will receive 45 new garbage trucks in 2024 and 2025 to improve waste management. The trucks will be funded through the city's budget and are expected to strengthen the city's efforts to address solid waste disposal.

Gerry Pollisco, OCENR assistance chief, stated that 10 units are scheduled for delivery this year, with 20 units funded through the 2024 Supplemental Budget Number 3 and another 15 units allocated under the 2025 Executive Budget. Pollisco expressed gratitude to Mayor Dalipe for his substantial support to the OCENR in its efforts to develop effective solutions for Zamboanga City's solid waste disposal. He also encouraged communities to improve their waste collection, segregation, recycling, and other climate change adaptation practices, emphasizing that proper waste management and environmental protection are shared responsibilities. In a recent meeting, the Zamboanga City Solid Waste Management Board focused on implementing the city's 10-year solid waste management plan. Mayor Dalipe urged the board members to remain committed to creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Zamboanga City
