Zaid’s libel suit against Bar to be heard in December 2024 FMTNews
Zaid Ibrahim and two others had on Sept 30 filed a suit against the Bar and its president, Karen Cheah, for defamation.
He said another case management would be held on Aug 14 for parties to finalise statements on agreed facts and issues to be tried.Zaid Ibrahim, Liew Teck Huat and Rueben Mathiavaranam had on Sept 30 filed a suit against the Bar and its president, Karen Cheah, for allegedly defaming them over their conduct in the appeal.
“The said words in the press release were calculated to disparage, besmirch and damn the plaintiffs in the way of their professional capacities as advocates and solicitors having conduct of the Federal Court appeal and applications,” they said.
