Doesn't seem like an official thing..yet YouTube TechNave

Back in May, it was reported that YouTube was experimenting with blocking Ad Blockers on its platform. We haven't really heard anything since then until today when Redditor Reddit_n_Me got a new message regarding AdBlock on his YouTube.

In the Reddit thread, he posted a screenshot of receiving a message from YouTube, saying his video player will be blocked after three videos. If YouTube implements this, users with an ad blocker will be restricted unless the latter is disabled, or simply subscribing to YouTube Premium which skips all the ads. You can also see the two options below Allow YouTube Ads or Try YouTube Premium.

If we have to guess, YouTube is probably experimenting with this feature just like before back in May. According to sources, not many users with AdBlocker on their YouTube have encountered this. So it's safe to say this is not an official thing...at least not yet. It's not known if this feature will appear on other types of Blockers such as uBlock Origin.

To refresh your memory, YouTube Premium for the Malaysia market was raised to RM33.90 from RM26.90 per month back in the middle of May. The individual plan remains the same at RM17.90 per month, as well as the Student package for RM10.90 per month. You can add up to five members using the Family Plan, where each member pays RM6.78 per month.
