Young local talent will be on display at a new art exhibit hosted by the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa.You can check out more than 100 works, including painting, photography, sculptures and digital art. They have been produced by artists from kindergarten to Grade 12 who are attending schools in the Durham Catholic District School Board .
“Art has been my passion ever since I was five years old,” said Samuel, an eighth-grade student at St. André Bessette Catholic School in Ajax. “As a young, upcoming artist, it truly means the world to me to have my work displayed at the [RMG]. Having my art in this exhibit truly gives me the confidence to continue pursuing this passion of mine.”
“We’re extremely proud of our students,” said Katharine Stevenson, superintendent of education at the DCDSB. “This art exhibit showcases the creativity and artistic talents of Durham Catholic students from across the board.” “The students have such immense talent and it is always such a joy to be able to celebrate their work in the gallery,” said Leila Timmins, the RMG’s senior curator. “I cannot wait to see the new artwork they have produced this year.”
