A woman from Hubei province, China, has taken her filial piety to the extreme by carrying customers’ refrigerators on her back to help her disabled father. An admirable gesture: Cao Youyuan, a 20-year-old student at the Hubei Polytechnic Institute, explained to The Paper that she started helping her father when she was in secondary school around six years ago.
Cao told The Paper that she does not feel proud of her actions because she considers it “normal and natural” to help her family.
She shared that the heaviest fridge she ever carried was 70 kilograms , adding, "But I can only take it to the first floor and cannot climb to higher floors after that. Doing this work also requires skills. I think I have grasped them after doing it so many times. Usually, I deliver one or two fridges a day and don’t feel very tired.”
Cao also said she has already delivered over 1,000 fridges and other appliances since she started helping her family. She added that her father walks behind her during deliveries.A father’s concern: Cao’s father, who became concerned about his daughter’s health, reportedly took her to a doctor for a physical checkup a few years ago. They were relieved to hear that the doctor did not find any notable concerns.
"I feel relieved that I have such a sensible and obedient daughter,” he told The Paper. “I also want to tell my daughter to stay healthy and study hard at school.”
