I do not support complete decriminalization. Sex workers should be encouraged to work as self-employed individuals either on their own or in the equivalent of collectives or partnerships with other self-employed sex workers. It should be illegal for anyone to hire or employ someone to provide sex to a third party.
Lawyers, accountants and architects have long been able to provide services directly to the public without being employed or managed by someone in a different profession. There is no reason why sex workers can’t do the same. It should be lawful for clients to purchase sex from such self-employed sex workers.The other day I watched the CEO of CHEO tell us about a child who waited for 32 hours before being treated.
