Samsung has shrunk the size of its best-of-the-best Micro-LED TV, but the price tag is still pretty large.
| Samsung has finally made good on its promise to release a version of its Micro-LED TV that can fit in people’s houses, but at a price that still leaves ordinary people living in ordinary houses very much out of the equation.in Las Vegas, Samsung showed off Micro-LED TVs in sizes ranging from 77 inches to 144 inches, which it says will bring all the benefits of OLED to a customer’s home with none of OLED’s weaknesses.
That means someone watching a Micro-LED TV is watching the pure, unfiltered light produced by the LEDs, allowing the TV to be much, much brighter than OLED TVs , and a little brighter than its brightest LCD TVs.
Pricing for the TVs has yet to be set, but the price of the most affordable 77-inch model was likely to be roughly proportional to the price of the industrial-sized 110-inch Micro-LED TV that Samsung released last year for $220,000, Mr Jekishan said, placing it around $150,000.More affordable is Samsung’s new range of OLED TVs. Being organic, they will fade with time but, at perhaps one-thirtieth the cost, they could be replaced yearly to maintain their brightness for the same money.
