Historica Canada is accepting proposals for a new Canadian Heritage Minute about Norman Kwong
to parents who immigrated to Canada from China in the early 1900s, a period that saw the Canadian government place a $500 “head tax” on Chinese immigrants.
For 13 years, Kwong was a running back, winning four Grey Cups and setting 30 league records, playing for the Calgary Stampeders and the Edmonton Eskimos . The budget should be $170,000 before taxes, and should take into account producing English and French versions of the Minute, ACTRA fees, crew, set designs, costuming and props, locations and post-production, among other line items.
