Wallabies coach Eddie Jones has launched a spectacular attack on the media gathered at Sydney Airport as the team heads to France for the Rugby World Cup.

The 63-year-old labelled the short media appearance the “worst press conference I’ve ever had in world rugby” before telling the press pack"you ought to give yourselves uppercuts".

“I know what’s wrong with Australian rugby and part of you blokes are the problem because you’re so bloody negative about everything,” he said. “I know you blokes think we can’t do any good so don’t ask any questions boys, just be the pessimists you are and keep Australian rugby where it’s been,” he said.

With the reporters on the back foot, one tried to ask whether Jones had seen a difference in the Wallabies since he first took over the reigns at the start of the year. Jones was then asked to give a message to the Wallabies fans who will be tuning in and travelling over to France.“Thanks for the worst press conference I’ve ever had in world rugby. The worst press conference well done boys, that’s the worst I’ve ever seen, the worst I’ve ever seen.”

The fiery Australian returned to the Wallabies coaching staff in January, 18 years after he last led the team.
