Australia’s Ariarne Titmus has broken the world record and beaten out teenage sensation Summer McIntosh to claim gold in the Women’s 400m Freestyle in a time of 3:55.38.With 100 metres left the Australian was more than a body length in front of rival Katie Ledecky, with Canadian McIntosh dropping out of the medals completely.Speaking to Tom Decent after the race, World Champion Sam Short said it was “bloody amazing”.

“I bounced back from last year amazing, and I think all the struggles I went through last year, you know, this is nothing compared to that. I’m just enjoying the hard work I put in the bank, and I’m loving every bit of it.”Australian Sam Short wins gold in Men’s 400m Freestyle
