Any time we get a sunny break in the days ahead, it'll just cause enough heating to cause clouds and showers once again
An upper-air weather system called a cold core low moves into the Great Lakes region this week and hangs on well into this coming weekend. Think of it as fall's version of a polar vortex. It will bring cloud cover showers and cooler weather - and move very slowly.
The heat returns Tuesday, with a south wind pushing daytime highs up to 19°C under partly skies. The upper-air low moves in during the evening to bring clouds, with a chance of showers after midnight.
