Homicide squad detectives are investigating after a 24-year-old woman was found dead after allegedly being assaulted in Perth's CBD in the early hours of the morning, with a man assisting police with their inquiries.

"We have still got a lot of other procedures that we need to go through before we can confirm exactly what injuries she has," he said. Police say the woman was found on Wellington Street after she was allegedly assaulted nearby in Yagan Square.
