A 32-year-old woman has died, and three others have been taken to hospital after a head-on collision in regional New South Wales.

Emergency services were called to Bungowannah Rd in Jindera, about 15 kilometres north of Albury, at about 1pm Saturday. Police believe a Nissan Dualis travelling westbound and a Toyota Prado travelling east collided head-on, trapping the drivers.The 32-year-old driver of the Nissan died at the scene and her two young passengers – aged 12 and three – were freed from the vehicle uninjured.

Emergency services freed the 21-year-old driver trapped in the Toyota and he was taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said. Two passengers – a 60-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man – were also taken to hospital for treatment.
