THUNDER BAY – A 34-year-old Thunder Bay woman has died after a single-vehicle collision in Current River.

First responders were dispatched to Lyon Boulevard at Rita Street just after 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning following reports a vehicle had struck a tree, Thunder Bay police stated in a release. Police asked the public to avoid the area until further notice, with several roads closed as police investigate the collision.

The 35-year-old male driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody, with charges pending, police said, adding no further details would be made available at this time.
